Electric vehicle (EV) charging network operator and owner GridCars has announced a new EV driver subscription programme that connects home charging with public charging, giving EV owners an opportunity to earn rewards every time they charge at home.
Under this programme, customers earn R1 in public-charging rewards for every verified 1 kWh charged at home.
The rewards can be redeemed at any GridCars public charging location.
The planned standard subscription price is R299 a month. As part of the launch offer, however, customers who register in August will pay R99 a month for the first six subscription months at the minimum, with the first subscription month beginning in September.
Home-charging activity is securely verified using charger telemetry and certified meter data.
