MANILA, Philippines — A former law school dean has urged Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla to be more careful with his statements, asking whether the official insinuated that the Sandiganbayan is corrupt after it granted the bail petition of former Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla.
In a radio interview with DZRH, lawyer Judd Roy who was formerly president and dean of the Pamantasang Lungsod ng Maynila’s law school, said that Remulla’s statements that efforts were made to secure a nod for Revilla’s bail petition might have been an accusation of corruption.
Furthermore, Remulla said that they expected that the bail petition would be granted—but Roy said that the Ombudsman should make public the details that led to his statements.
