When Argentines really love a band, it can become almost a cultural religion. And the Rolling Stones fandom has proven so once again.Legendary musician Ron Wood will bring his latest world tour to Argentina, and his November 6 concert at the 15,000-seat Movistar Arena in Buenos Aires sold out in just a few minutes.
For local audiences, Wood’s return is also a new opportunity to display Argentina’s incredible local passion for the Stones.
Bandmate Keith Richards was the first to witness the energy of the local fan base in his 1992 solo concert, attended by 45,000 people at Vélez stadium. The gig is considered the stepping stone to pave the way for The Rolling Stones’ first tour in 1995.
A year later, Ron Wood returned to Buenos Aires for an exposition of his paintings at art gallery Praxis, with record attendance.
Since then, The Rolling Stones have come to Argentina four times, with 15 sold-out stadium shows. Their most recent visit was documented in the 2017 concert film Olé olé olé, a trip across Latin America.
