NewsUK NewsCrimeTributes have poured in for Suzanne Menagh, who died at the White Star Line Hotel on James Street, Liverpool city centre, as pals say she had 'heart of gold'16:36, 04 Aug 2026A "lovely" woman who died at a hotel in Liverpool city centre has been named and pictured as police arrested two on suspicion of murder.Suzanne Menagh, who was 40 years old, became unwell at the White Star Line Hotel on James Street but, despite the paramedics' best efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene. Merseyside Police are treating the death as unexplained and two people have been arrested on suspicion of murder.A post-mortem examination has been carried out to establish Ms Menagh's cause of death but the results are withheld pending toxicology reports. Meanwhile, tributes have started pouring in for Ms Menagh, who pals say had "a heart of gold".Ry's Competitions, based in Bootle, Merseyside, described Suzanne as a "valued and loyal member" of its community. In a tribute, the company said: "From everyone at Ry's Competitions, we would like to offer our heartfelt condolences to the Menagh family following the sad loss of Suzanne."She was always a pleasure to have as part of our community. Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with Melissa, the entire Menagh family, and all those who knew and loved Suzanne during this incredibly difficult time. Rest in peace, Suzanne."Many others also shared messages in Suzanne's memory, Liverpool ECHO reports. Darhyl Sharp wrote: "She had a heart of gold. Still can't get my head around it. RIP Sue, you will be missed."Amme Snobbig said: "Lovely girl. She's going to be missed by so many. R.I.P Sue." Leanne Kelly posted: "I can't believe you have gone, not going to see you again. My prayers go out to your family and loved ones."Merseyside Police confirmed a 47-year-old man from Kirkby, Merseyside, and a 34-year-old woman from Liverpool have been arrested on suspicion of murder. A 31-year-old man from Liverpool has also been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.All three have been conditionally bailed while enquiries are ongoing.
