The Bela police in Adilabad district seized 14 ganja plants from an agricultural field belonging to a man from Thippa village in Maharashtra’s Chandrapur district after apprehending him during a vehicle-checking operation at Bela on Tuesday.The accused was identified as Bheema Govind Athram, 61, of Thippa village. He was apprehended early on Tuesday with 10 grams of dry ganja.A case was registered against him under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, and further investigation is underway.In a separate incident, police seized six quintals of government-subsidised rice being illegally transported to Maharashtra in a van on the outskirts of Adilabad town on Tuesday.
