A recent report shows that Cameroon’s president, Paul Biya, the world’s oldest president, has not been in the public eye for nearly two months.
This has led to speculations about the president’s well-being and whether or not he is still alive, an inquiry that was addressed by René Emmanuel Sadi, a government spokesperson.
The 93-year-old president is said to have left the nation on June 7 for what authorities characterized as a brief private vacation to Europe, but has yet to return, marking one of his longest absences in recent years.
Biya has routinely spent extended periods of time out of the country he governs, as his age has increased speculation on his protracted absence.
Government authorities have attempted to alleviate public fears, noting that his trips are no more than a little time off work.
