South Africans are being urged to stay warm and use heating devices safely as cold weather conditions continue to grip parts of the country.
The government has called on South Africans to take extra precautions as cold weather continues to affect large parts of the country, warning of increased risks to health, safety and infrastructure.
Government urged communities to remain vigilant and follow official weather warnings to reduce the impact of severe winter conditions.
"As temperatures continue to drop across the country, government calls on citizens to take the necessary precautions to protect themselves, their families and vulnerable members of society during severe and cold weather," the government said.
Authorities encouraged residents to closely monitor weather forecasts and heed warnings issued by the South African Weather Service (SAWS) and disaster management authorities.
