Bowen Yang will be the next Mary Todd Lincoln in Oh, Mary! on Broadway.

This marks the Saturday Night Live star’s Broadway debut, after appearing in films such as Wicked and Fire Island, and marks one of his biggest projects since Yang departed SNL in December 2026. He takes over from current Mary, Meg Stalter, for a run starting Sept. 15 and ending Dec. 6.

“My friendship with Cole has brought me many places over the years: late-night pizzerias, cross-borough social-distance walks, a tough production of Les Misérables sung in Dutch,” said Yang. “But being part of their deranged and profound masterpiece, Oh, Mary! is my favorite one by far. I will spend the rest of my life thanking them for the best Broadway debut a cis gay guy with limited singing ability could ask for.”

Yang will join continuing cast members Phillip James Brannon (‘Mary’s Husband’), Barrett Foa (‘Mary’s Teacher’), Bianca Leigh (‘Mary’s Chaperone’), and returning original cast member Tony Macht (‘Mary’s Teacher’s Assistant’). Yang is a coproducer on Titanique on Broadway, but this marks his stage acting debut.

The production, which opened at the historic Lyceum Theatre in July 2024, has put a new block of tickets on sale through July 2027.
