The Students’ Union Government of DS Adegbenro ICT Polytechnic says security agencies have commenced investigations into the recent robbery attack that claimed the life of a student and left others injured in the Eruku community, while new security measures have been introduced to protect students.
The union disclosed this in a statement issued on Tuesday after what it described as a high-level security meeting held on August 3 with the institution’s management, traditional rulers, alumni representatives and heads of security agencies operating within the Itori axis.
The meeting, according to the statement jointly signed by the SUG President, Okunuga Opeyemi, General Secretary, Idris Amidat, and Public Relations Officer, Caleb-Martins Hannah, was convened to address growing security concerns, students’ welfare and economic challenges affecting students on and off campus.
The union said security agencies, working with the school management and community leaders, had begun “deep and thorough investigations” into the robbery incident.
“We wish to inform the student body that security agencies, in close collaboration with the school management and local leadership, are currently conducting deep and thorough investigations into the recent robbery incident.
