Caterpillar Inc.
(NYSE:CAT) stock traded higher Tuesday after the construction and mining equipment maker reported second-quarter 2026 revenue and raised its full-year sales outlook.
Adjusted EPS of $8.17 beat the $5.71 estimate, while sales and revenues of $20.5 billion topped the $18.358 billion estimate.
Caterpillar's order backlog reached a record $72.1 billion in the second quarter of 2026, fueled by robust demand for power generation and construction equipment.
"This is the first time in company history that we have generated over $20 billion in sales and revenues in a single quarter," Chairman and CEO Joe Creed said.
