Local press, including KTIV, reports that the cloud and search giant has expressed interest in a 900-acre site in the county.

Energy company MidAmerican proposed the data center project in question in June 2026 for land bounded by Old Highway 75, 260th Street, and Charles Avenue. At the time, the company said that no end user had been selected.
The land was previously part of Woodbury County but was annexed by Salix City Council in April. Woodbury County has a moratorium on data centers, passed on June 23.
