Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Tuesday that he had approved a new series of Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) operations aimed at countering Russian aggression.Zelensky announced the decision in a social media post following a briefing on Ukraine’s ongoing operations against Russia.JOIN US ON TELEGRAMFollow our coverage of the war on the @Kyivpost_official.“The Security Service of Ukraine has achieved good results, and today I approved new operations,” Zelensky wrote.He did not disclose details of the planned missions.According to the president, acting SBU chief Oleksandr Poklad briefed him on the agency’s priorities for August.Zelensky said he had approved further measures to remove personnel from within the agency who, in his words, “work for themselves, not for Ukraine.”“I thank everyone in the SBU who truly protects our state and our people,” Zelensky said.The announcement comes 40 days after Zelensky approved a separate SBU operation designed to increase pressure on Russia and push Moscow toward ending its war against Ukraine.On June 25, Zelensky said he had authorized a 40-day “operation of influence” against the “aggressor state.”Zelensky also praised the SBU’s Alpha Special Operations Center for its use of various types of drones on the battlefield and its results against Russian personnel and military equipment.The SBU said its drones and naval systems had targeted Russian oil infrastructure, military facilities, and vessels linked to Moscow’s sanctioned “shadow fleet” over the past week as part of its 40-day strike campaign.
