The South African Post Office (SAPO) has received its first unqualified audit opinion in six years for the financial year ended 31 March 2026.
An unqualified audit opinion means the Auditor-General found that SAPO’s financial statements fairly reflect its financial position and performance.
This comes as the embattled state-owned entity continues its business rescue process after being placed under supervision in 2023 amid mounting financial losses, declining mail volumes, mounting debt and liquidity constraints that threatened its ability to continue operating.
