Brooklyn and Nicola have been in the holiday hotspot with godfather Elton and his husband David Furnish.‌But things almost became slightly awkward after it emerged that David and Victoria were just five minutes away from where Brooklyn had been spotted in the South of France. Brooklyn and his wife were on board Sir Elton's private yacht, while David and Victoria were spotted just yards away in a nearby town.‌The eldest son of the former footballer and ex-Spice Girl hasn't seen his parents in over a year due to their fallout. Sir Elton has always maintained a close bond with David and Victoria and is also a godfather to their son, Romeo.But the latest family drama appears to be at the back of Brooklyn's mind as he took to social media to share a string of snaps from his luxury getaway. One image showed the wannabe chef and his billionaire heiress wife posing alongside Sir Elton and David Furnish, as well as their two sons, Zachary and Elijah.‌While Brooklyn didn't include a caption on his post, David Furnish gushed: "So lovely having you both to stay with us..." He also replied to Nicola's post on her own Instagram, writing: "Such a lovely time we all spent together."David and Victoria were spotted heading into Cherry Restaurant, while Brooklyn was seen gazing around Jacquemus before purchasing an ice cream. The two sides were not there at the same time but on the same day, and they never crossed paths despite the venues being five minutes apart.‌While it would appear that Sir Elton is taking sides in the ongoing Beckham feud, this couldn't be further from the truth. A source told the Mirror: "Elton has absolutely no interest in taking sides. He knows that family relationships can be complicated. He simply wants to be a loving godfather to Brooklyn, and that will never change. He cares about them all and hopes that, in time, things can heal."Speaking about the near-miss, a source went on to explain: "It would have been the first time they had all come face to face for a long time. I think everyone is probably quite relieved it didn't happen, given the current bad blood. It would have been incredibly awkward."Their near-miss came just days after it emerged that, in the lead-up to his wedding to Nicola, Brooklyn's relationship with his family had become strained. So much so that he allegedly didn't speak to his family for three months.‌"And yet still the Beckhams smiled for the cameras there, and posted adoring posts on social media after the event," a source said over the weekend.There had been issues within the family, with claims that Victoria pulled out of designing Nicola's dress. Instead, Nicola wore a Valentino Haute Couture dress for her wedding. She later told Vogue that Valentino was a "no-brainer" for her.Earlier this year, Brooklyn unleashed a furious attack on his family and stated that he had no plans to reconcile with his parents and siblings in the future.
