Pidilite Industries Limited on Tuesday reported a 27.7 per cent rise in standalone profit after tax (PAT) to ₹830 crore for the first quarter of FY27 (April–June 2026), driven by broad-based volume growth and proactive price increases across product categories. Standalone net sales grew 22.2 per cent year-on-year to ₹4,237 crore.On a consolidated basis, the Mumbai-headquartered adhesives and sealants maker posted revenue of ₹4,541 crore, up 21.3 per cent, with PAT rising 30.3 per cent to ₹884 crore. Consolidated EBITDA stood at ₹1,194 crore, a 26.9 per cent increase, with margins expanding to 26.3 per cent from 25.1 per cent in the year-ago period.The company’s two business segments both reported growth, though at different rates. The Consumer and Bazaar (C&B) segment, which accounts for roughly 82 per cent of standalone sales, grew revenue 22.5 per cent to ₹3,458 crore, with underlying volume growth (UVG) of 12.2 per cent. The Business-to-Business (B2B) segment grew 16 per cent to ₹821 crore, though export UVG contracted 8.4 per cent, which the company attributed to ongoing geopolitical conditions affecting West Asia. Domestic B2B UVG held at 10.4 per cent.Standalone EBITDA came in at ₹1,121 crore, up 26.2 per cent, with margins improving approximately 80 basis points to 26.4 per cent compared to 25.6 per cent in Q1 FY26. Gross margin, however, contracted by roughly 90 basis points to 52.5 per cent, reflecting inflationary pressures from the West Asia crisis on input costs. The company said price hikes were taken across categories to offset this.Material costs rose 24.5 per cent to ₹2,012 crore on a standalone basis, while advertising and sales promotion spend jumped 36.6 per cent to ₹153 crore.Domestic subsidiaries grew revenue 11.5 per cent, while international subsidiaries posted 12 per cent growth. West Asia and Africa subsidiaries reported EBITDA growth of 106.6 per cent on net sales of ₹93 crore, while Asia subsidiaries grew EBITDA 40.8 per cent.On the product front, the company launched Fevicol X-PER, a high-strength adhesive with anti-bending properties, and M-Seal Advanced Solvent Cement, described as an industry-first water-washable solvent cement compatible with CPVC, UPVC, and PVC pipes.Pidilite’s stock closed at ₹1,620 on NSE on Tuesday, down 1.37 per cent, giving the company a market capitalisation of approximately ₹1.65 lakh crore. The 52-week high of ₹1,659 was touched intraday today. The stock’s symbol P/E stands at 67.66.Management indicated the company would sustain its focus on profitable, volume-led growth, while monitoring raw material inflation, freight costs, and global supply chain risks going forward.Published on August 4, 2026
