—Conditional freedom. A Tegucigalpa judge ruled on August 3, 2026, that former President Juan Orlando Hernández will not be jailed while his fraud and money-laundering case proceeds, denying prosecutors’ request for pretrial detention.
—Court shift. The case, known as “Pandora II,” was transferred from the Supreme Court of Justice to an ordinary anti-corruption tribunal after the assigned Supreme Court magistrate declared himself without jurisdiction.
