Springbok playmaker Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu has been carefully managed by coaching staff ahead of the Test against Argentina.
As coach Rassie Erasmus prepares to announce his Springbok side to face Argentina on Tuesday night, all eyes are on the pivotal flyhalf duel brewing between Handre Pollard and Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu.
While both men carry immense pedigree, Saturday's clash in Buenos Aires looks like a direct audition for a spot on the bench against the All Blacks, at least for the first Test at Ellis Park. All indications are that Manie Libbok is currently ahead of them as South Africa’s first choice at No 10 for the upcoming Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry Series.
Libbok is one of a handful of key players who stayed behind in South Africa and did not travel with the Springboks to face Argentina in Buenos Aires this Saturday. The likes of Pieter-Steph du Toit, Malcolm Marx, and Damian Willemse — certain starters against the All Blacks — were also rested for the tour.
Libbok featured in the Springboks' opening Nations Championship match against England at Ellis Park, when Erasmus essentially selected his first-choice team. A few weeks before that, Libbok was wrapped in cotton wool instead of featuring for the Boks against the Barbarians in Gqeberha.
