The funeral service for New Democracy stalwart and long-time lawmaker Yiannis Varvitsiotis was held at the cathedral of Athens on Tuesday, in the presence of numerous politicians across the political spectrum.
The eulogy for the late politician, who died at the age of 93 on Sunday, is expected to be delivered by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, honoring the deceased’s long political career and contribution to the country’s public life.
The burial will take place at the First Cemetery of Athens.
