IonQ and EPB Partner to Establish Tennessee Quantum Communications Research Center
Quantum hardware and networking company IonQ (NYSE: IONQ) and Chattanooga electric power and telecommunications provider EPB have announced plans to launch the Tennessee Quantum Communications Research Center. Based in Chattanooga, Tennessee, the research and development innovation laboratory will be directly connected to an operational fiber optic communications network. The initiative aims to integrate commercial quantum memory units directly into live telecommunications infrastructure to support long-distance quantum information storage and routing.
