Traffic using Australia’s most famous bridge has been brought to a standstill following a crash.Police have urged motorists to avoid Sydney Harbour Bridge after two cars were involved in a crash about 2.15pm on Tuesday.Three people who were in the vehicles at the time are being treated for various injuries by NSW Ambulance paramedics.The incident has resulted in heavy queues of traffic in the area, with the iconic crossing left at gridlock.All but one of the bridge’s northbound lanes were closed to traffic as emergency services and recovery vehicles deal with the aftermath.The road, however, has since re-opened.Traffic is being diverted via the Sydney Harbour Tunnel instead.In a statement, NSW Police warned motorists to expect “significant delays”.“Officers attached to the Sydney City Police Area Command are on scene and have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash,” a spokesman said.Read related topics:Sydney
