The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has tightened its mobilisation process for the 2026 Batch B Stream II orientation exercise, insisting that prospective corps members must complete verification on the Nigeria Education Repository and Data Platform (NERD) before they can participate in the scheme.
The directive, announced on Monday, reinforces the Federal Government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the integrity of Nigeria’s education system by eliminating certificate fraud and improving the verification of academic records.
In a post on its official X platform, the NYSC made it clear that compliance with the NERD verification process is now compulsory for mobilisation.
“No NERD, no NYSC. Prospective corps members are advised not to travel at night to the orientation camp,” the scheme stated.
The agency also warned that prospective corps members whose graduation dates on their call-up letters differ from those on their statements of results will not be registered at orientation camps.
