The much-publicised Delta State Economic and Investment Summit 2026 was overshadowed by widespread confusion and frustration on Monday after the accreditation process collapsed, leaving scores of duly registered participants stranded outside the event venue.
Many attendees who had successfully completed the online registration process and received confirmation emails were unable to gain access to the Dome, event center, Asaba, the main venue of the summit due to the unavailability of accreditation tags.
At the Cenotaph, the designated accreditation centre, participants waited for hours only to discover that although their registration status appeared as "approved" on the system, no access tags were available to admit them into the venue.
The situation was further compounded by an apparent shortage of accreditation tags for registered participants, while tags for dignitaries and special guests were readily available.
