Zambia head coach Nora Häuptle has said her team will not leave anything to chance in their final group game of the 2026 WAFCON against Malawi as they seek to reach the quarter-finals from the tightly contested Group C, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

After racing into an early lead in the group with a 6-0 thrashing of Egypt, the Copper Queens were pegged back by Nigeria in their second game, leaving the group open for any of the top three teams to qualify at the end of match-day three.

An eighth-minute goal from Asisat Oshoala helped Nigeria bounce back against Zambia following their 3-2 defeat to Malawi in their opening game, leaving both teams on three points going into their final group games.

While Nigeria will face Egypt, Zambia will take on Malawi in the final group game on Wednesday in the tight race for the two quarter-final spots.
