In the early part of this century, the UK saw an explosion in the number of music festivals it hosted. By 2019, there were hundreds of events taking place.
But then came Covid, the cost-of-living crisis and soaring costs, and the sector struggled to
recover. This year, dozens were scrapped before the busy summer season.
Now there are calls for the government to step in to cut VAT on ticket sales to keep them afloat.
