Aug. 3 (UPI) -- The 10th annual World Dog Surfing Championships brought radical rovers and thousands of human spectators to a California beach.
The Saturday competition at Linda Mar Beach in Pacifica featured 14 dogs of all sizes riding the waves to attempt to win prizes including towel robes, medals and placards.
The poised pooches were judged on criteria including length of ride, size of the wave, confidence, balance and tricks.
A Labrador retriever named Rippin Rosie took top prize in the large and extra large category, as well as in the tandem stand-up paddleboarding competition alongside her owner.
French bulldog Iza was named the winner in the medium category, and a mixed breed named Bradley "Shortboard" Cooper took the top spot among the small dogs.
