Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said after meeting with Moldova's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mihai Popșoi that Ukraine's and Moldova's foreign policy priorities align, particularly in the areas of security and European aspirations.
The Ukrainian leader shared details of the meeting on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.
"I met with Moldova's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mihai Popșoi. I was pleased to welcome the Minister to Ukraine's annual meeting of ambassadors. His presence reflects the fact that Ukraine and Moldova share many foreign policy priorities, particularly in the areas of security and European aspirations. It is important that we continue moving forward together across the full range of our shared objectives," Zelensky said.
He also noted that the two sides discussed a number of practical projects that can and should be implemented, including in infrastructure and energy.
"For us, these are first and foremost matters of security and mutual assistance. I am grateful to Moldova for its consistent support for our people and our defense," Zelensky said.
