Sarda Energy and Minerals has reported that its net profit in the June quarter was up nine per cent at ₹478 crore against ₹437 crore logged in the same period last year, on better realisation.Income was up marginally at ₹1,717 crore (₹1,713 crore). EBIT was up 11 per cent at ₹643 crore (₹579 crore). The company has turned net debt free after strong cash flow during the quarter.The company plans to more than double thermal power production to 1,362 MW (762 MW) and renewables to 400 MW (168 MW) besides increased the coal mining to 7.1 million tonne per annum (1.8 MTPA) with a cumulative capex of over ₹10,000 crore by FY’30.It is in the business of producing iron ore fines, lumps and pellets besides semi-finished steel products in Chhattisgarh. It also produces ferro manganese and silico manganese in Chhattisgarh and Visakhapatnam.Pankaj Sarda, Managing Director, Sarda Energy and Minerals said despite temporary operational disruptions arising from planned maintenance activities, select unplanned outages and seasonal factors, the company delivered better financial numbers in the June quarter.The energy business continued to drive growth, contributing nearly 70 per cent of consolidated EBITDAhe said.Backed by a net debt-free balance sheet, prudent capital allocation and healthy cash generation, the company is confident in its ability to scale operations by quadrupling our mining capacity and doubling energy generation capacity over the medium term, he said.“With the temporary operational disruptions behind us, we expect to return to our normal operating trajectory from Q2 FY27 while continuing to focus on operational excellence and creating sustainable long-term value for all our stakeholders,” said Sarda.Published on August 3, 2026
