Philanthropists donate 52 boreholes to Ogun communities

Residents of Ijebu Ode, Odoyanta and Imosan in Ogun State have commended philanthropist Omooba Abimbola Onabanjo and his wife, Olori Abayomi Onabanjo, for donating 52 motorised boreholes to improve access to potable water across communities in Ijebuland.

The projects, which span several communities in the Ijebu Ode district, were inaugurated over the weekend as part of the couple’s humanitarian intervention aimed at addressing water shortages in rural areas.

Speaking at the inauguration, the donors’ representative, Funmilayo Ayanwusi, said the borehole projects were only the beginning of broader development initiatives for the area, a release shared with PUNCH Online on Monday stated.

She disclosed that 12 boreholes had been completed under the first phase, while work was ongoing on the remaining 40.
