Police rescue man from mob over one chance robbery allegations in Rivers
A man narrowly escaped being lynched after he was accused of involvement in a suspected one-chance robbery operation in Rivers State.
The incident, captured in a video shared on IG on Sunday, reportedly occurred after the suspect was accused of stealing a young woman’s mobile phone while they were inside a commercial bus.
According to eyewitnesses, the suspect was apprehended by a group of youths, who allegedly assaulted him before security operatives arrived at the scene.
Police officers intervened, took the suspect into custody, handcuffed him and escorted him away from the scene for further investigation.
