The war waged by Russia against Ukraine has been at a strategic deadlock for a long time, but the Russian leadership still believes it can achieve its goals through military means.
According to Ukrinform, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Kyrylo Budanov said this to journalists during a meeting of the heads of Ukraine's foreign diplomatic missions.
"Now I see that they [the Russians] believe they can achieve their goal through military means. This is a mistaken assumption, and all these years have proved it. The war is essentially at a deadlock for them," Budanov said.
He added that there are certain combat operations on the front line, "with advances and without advances." But strategically, according to Budanov, the war has long been at a deadlock.
