A man has been arrested after the death of a nine–year–old girl who was found at an industrial estate in Arbroath.The little girl was discovered seriously injured in the Scottish town's Elliot Industrial Estate in the early hours of Monday. She was rushed to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee, where she later died. A 35-year-old man has been arrested in connection with her death, which police are treating as suspicious. The girl was discovered at Elliot Industrial Estate in Arbroath at around 12.02am on Monday A police forensics tent has been erected at the scene and a cordon has been put in place Detective Superintendent Nicky McGovern said: 'Around 12.02am on Monday, August 3 2026, officers were called to Elliot Industrial Estate in Arbroath after a nine–year–old girl was found with serious injuries.'She was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee where she later died.'A 35–year–old man has been arrested in connection with her death, which is being treated as suspicious.'Her family are being supported by specialist officers as inquiries continue.'
