Edin Dzeko has signed a new one-year contract at Schalke which will take the veteran striker beyond his 41st birthday.The Bosnia and Herzegovina international joined Schalke in January and scored six goals in 11 appearances, helping the Gelsenkirchen-based club secure promotion back to the Bundesliga — Germany’s top flight.He featured for his nation at this summer’s World Cup, starting in three of the side’s four matches including their last-32 stage defeat to the U.S..
