AMC Entertainment Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:AMC) stock traded higher on Monday following an announcement of record-setting weekend revenue.
More than 10.2 million moviegoers attended AMC Theatres in the U.S. and ODEON Cinemas internationally from Wednesday through Sunday. The period marked AMC’s highest-attended weekend of the decade globally and third highest-attended weekend in company history.
Box Office Performance
AMC generated its highest single-weekend total revenue ever, driven by the debut of “Spider-Man: Brand New Day.” The film opened to a media-reported $355 million domestic and $927 million globally. Combined with “The Odyssey,” the title helped drive the highest-grossing weekend at the domestic box office in industry history based on admissions revenue.
