The Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) and the Government of Moscow have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC), aimed at strengthening urban development and smart mobility initiatives in Visakhapatnam.The agreement was signed during the 5th International Transport Summit in Moscow by GVMC Commissioner Ketan Garg and Maksim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow and Head of the Department of Transport and Road Infrastructure Development, in the presence of Visakhapatnam MP M. Sribharat.The partnership aligns with the State government’s vision of transforming Visakhapatnam into a globally competitive, technology-driven city, Mr. Sribharat said, adding that Moscow’s expertise in advanced urban transport systems would help the city adopt international best practices in mobility, digital governance and sustainable infrastructure.The cooperation will focus on integrated urban transport planning, Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), digital ticketing, artificial intelligence-based traffic management, autonomous transport technologies, urban mobility data platforms and industrial collaboration in sectors such as automobile and electronics manufacturing, advanced energy storage and vertical transport solutions.Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister Ponguru Narayana said the partnership would support Visakhapatnam’s long-term urban development, while Principal Secretary S.
