Andy Mead/ISI Photos/Getty ImagesAug. 3, 2026 7:20 am EDT Updated USA international cricketer Bodugum Akhilesh Reddy has been banned from all forms of the sport for eight years for breaching anti-corruption rules.The International Cricket Council (ICC), which governs global cricket, found the 26-year-old guilty of charges relating to match-fixing, soliciting others to fix matches, and destroying evidence that could have been relevant to the investigation.The ban is backdated to November 21, 2025, when he was provisionally suspended by the ICC, with the charges relating to the 2025 edition of the Abu Dhabi T10 in the United Arab Emirates.
The ICC notes Reddy was found guilty by tribunal to have breached Articles 2.1.1 (attempting to fix or otherwise influence improperly matches), 2.1.4 (soliciting, encouraging or facilitating another participant to breach article 2.1.1) and 2.4.7 (obstructing the investigation through deletion of data and messages from a mobile device).The batter, who also bowls right-arm off-spin, most recently played for Aspin Stallions in the Abu Dhabi T10 league.Reddy, who played in four T20Is for the USA and has an international wicket to his name, debuted for the national team against Cayman Islands in the North America T20 Cup.Reddy is the second American cricketer to be caught up the sport’s anti-corruption laws this year. Former vice-captain Aaron Jones was provisionally suspended by the ICC in January, on the eve of the USA’s participation in the T20 World Cup, after being charged with five alleged breaches of anti-corruption codes.The Athletic has approached USA Cricket for comment.
