The incident occurred at approximately 4:30 am on Sunday, 19 April, when Carrington's car allegedly surged forward, striking Zakrzewska, who later died from her injuries on 25 April. Carrington, who appeared at the Old Bailey via videolink, pleaded not guilty to murder and a second charge of causing grievous bodily harm with intent to security guard Anoush Chyche, who also sustained “life-changing injuries”. The defendant, who has over 365,000 Instagram followers, represented herself during the plea hearing, stating she did not want to represent herself “for the foreseeable” but was happy to enter a plea. Judge Sarah Whitehouse KC set the trial to commence at the Old Bailey on 5 January, with further pre-trial hearings scheduled for 11 August and 9 October, and remanded Carrington into custody.
