Rivian Automotive generated revenue of $1.658 billion in the second quarter of 2026, according to its latest financial results, up 27 per cent year on year. Revenue from the automotive business increased by 23 per cent to $1.143 billion, while the Software & Services segment grew by 37 per cent to $515 million. Of that total, $308 million, or 60 per cent, came from the joint venture with Volkswagen to develop software and a zonal E/E architecture. Volkswagen is now Rivian’s largest shareholder, with a 15.9 per cent stake.

The net loss attributable to common shareholders for the period from April to June amounted to $837 million, which is $278 million lower than the $1.115 billion loss recorded in the same quarter of the previous year.

As previously reported, Rivian produced 12,613 battery-electric vehicles at its plant in Normal, Illinois, USA, in the second quarter and delivered 12,194 units. Following the mid-June launch of deliveries for its flagship model, the R2, Rivian has raised its delivery forecast for the full year 2026 from 62,000–67,000 to 65,000–70,000 vehicles.

Rivian also announced that Amazon is now operating more than 40,000 of its electric delivery vans, which are used to deliver packages in thousands of cities across North America.
