Three people were killed and 21 injured after a bomb was detonated in an upscale restaurant in central Moscow on Saturday night, according to Russia’s National Anti-Terrorism Committee.

“An improvised explosive device exploded in a restaurant on Kudrinskaya Square at 7:55 p.m.,” the NAC said in a statement on its website. “The necessary operational search measures and investigative actions to establish all the circumstances of the incident are currently being carried out.”The explosion killed a security guard who was attempting to prevent an unidentified woman suspected of trying to carry an explosive device into the Balzi Rossi Italian restaurant under the guise of delivering a box to guests, the woman herself, and a restaurant customer, according to the NAC.
