Team Nigeria has concluded its campaign at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow as Africa's highest-ranked nation, finishing sixth on the overall medal table and standing as the only African country to break into the top 10 rankings at the Games.
According to the final medal table, Nigeria closed with 10 gold, seven silver and seven bronze medals, for a total of 24 medals.
The tally placed Nigeria behind only Australia, England, Canada, India and hosts Scotland, and ahead of established Commonwealth sporting nations, including Jamaica, New Zealand, Wales and Malaysia, who rounded out the rest of the top 10.
On the continental medal table for Africa, dated August 2, Nigeria topped all African nations with its 10 gold, seven silver, seven bronze haul, edging out South Africa, which recorded a higher overall medal count of 28 (seven gold, 11 silver, 10 bronze) but finished outside the global top 10, underscoring Nigeria's stronger gold-medal output relative to its closest continental rival.
