Nigeria’s Super Falcons will be without defenders Oluwatosin Demehin and midfielder Jennifer Echegini for their final Group C match at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) after both players were suspended by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
The suspensions come after Nigeria’s hard-fought 1-0 victory over Zambia on Saturday, a result that helped the nine-time African champions recover from their surprising defeat to Malawi earlier in the tournament.
The Super Falcons are set to face Egypt in a decisive final group-stage encounter, with qualification for the knockout rounds at stake.
Demehin will miss the match after receiving a straight red card in the 40th minute of the clash against Zambia.
The defender was sent off for bringing down Zambia captain Barbra Banda as the forward broke through on goal.
