A man from North Yorkshire has been spending his weekends pressure washing elderly people's patios completely free of charge, and has been sharing his patio cleaning videos online15:05, 02 Aug 2026Updated 15:05, 02 Aug 2026Many 28-year-olds are enjoying time with their friends, or going out to the pub or clubs. But one man from Skipton, North Yorkshire, has shared why, once he's finished with his 9 to 5, he wants to give back to the community, especially the elderly people within it.‌Joe Wilson works in "house removals and deliveries," but he has a side hustle on weekends and days off, one that he's not paid for - he helps elderly people restore their patios to their former glory. What's more, he's also completely fallen in love with doing it.‌He noticed that many elderly people in his area have gardens that are "unsafe," and he'd hate his grandma to come to any harm because of her home being kept in a bad condition, so he wants to help other people's loved ones as well, while he can.‌"A lot of their patios aren't really kept on top of, and their gardens can sometimes be incredibly unsafe. Most of these people can't really help themselves anymore, and with the cost of living on the rise, many of them also can't afford it. I always think that if that were my grandma walking outside onto her patio and she slipped and had a serious accident, it would be awful," he explained.But rather than just cleaning people's patios, he decided to film the process as well, as he enjoys consuming that wholesome content in his own free time.So, he set up his TikTok account @spraynpray2026, where he says he "helps people's gardens shine," describing himself as a "friendly neighbourhood pressure washer". He's already amassed nearly 20k followers on the account.‌"I thought maybe I could make fun videos like that too, but at the same time, I could really help out someone's loved one," he shared, also admitting that he dreams of making it a "full-time thing" should he manage to monetise his social media content.What's been truly remarkable, though, is the overwhelming response he's received since his videos went viral, with the community proving "incredibly supportive" of his efforts.‌"The old folks I've been helping have been so happy with the results, and some try to offer me money afterwards, because cleaning a garden patio can quite literally make your garden look brand new," Joe gushed.Fans have told him that it's people like him who "make the world a better place," something he clearly takes great pride in hearing.Others have called him a "real gentleman" after watching his videos, with some joking that they hope he never gets "a tick, a mosquito bite, sunburn, or a parking ticket."‌Joe also revealed he's "had so many emails and DMs from people who have relatives or friends in bad situations that could do with his help".He went on: "The best way to support what I'm doing is by watching and interacting with the videos I post on social media, so that I can get better equipment and maybe even a van, so I can travel around to those people who need it!"Every view, like, comment, and share pays money on TikTok, so by using that system, I can make money through my channel that I can put back into the community".Article continues belowNaturally, caution is always advised when a stranger turns up at your door offering their services — but in Joe's case, he appears to be genuinely helping countless people and transforming people's lives for the better.
