As many as 470 young chess players from more than 170 schools across Telangana participated in ‘The Hindu in School Chess Tournament’ held at the State Gallery of Art, Madhapur, here on Sunday.The tournament, hosted by the NMDC in association with The Hindu Group, was conducted across five age categories under the Telangana Chess Association.NMDC deputy general manager Ch. Srinivasa Rao inaugurated the tournament. Speaking on the occasion, he said NMDC would continue to encourage sporting activities and referred to the Bailadila Kabaddi League recently organised by the public sector undertaking.
