I completed Class 12 (Computer Science and Maths) but want to be a CA. I did not score well in the board exams. How can I achieve my goal? Shilo
Dear Shilo,
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) does not have a minimum percentage requirement to register for the CA Foundation. If you have passed, you are eligible. Your Computer Science and Maths background gives you an advantage in Paper 3 (Quantitative Aptitude), which covers Maths, Logical Reasoning and Statistics. Your biggest challenge will be bridging the Commerce gap. Focus first on the fundamentals of Accounting: Double Entry System, Journal Entries, Ledgers and Trial Balance. Don’t get intimidated by Accounting or Business Laws; take them one step at a time.
