Reality star Nicole Polizzi, known as Snooki, updated fans on her battle with cervical cancer and told fans she has now had a hysterectomy as she filmed from her hospital bed12:25, 02 Aug 2026Jersey Shore's Nicole Polizzi aka Snooki struggled to hold back the tears as she updated fans from her hospital bed after having a hysterectomy.The 38 year old, who revealed earlier this year that she has been diagnosed with stage one cervical cancer, told her followers she had her uterus, cervix, fallopian tubes and some part of her vagina removed. But said she has kept her ovaries "so I don't go into premenopause."The star, who is a mum of three to Lorenzo, 13, Giovanna, 11, and Angelo, six, who she shares with husband Jionni LaValle, was seen in a hospital gown in bed as she updated her Instagram followers in a Reel of a behind the scenes of her surgery."Sorry it's just been a lot," she said as she fought back tears. "Just dealing with all that pain, it's not great. But I'm doing my best and trying to stay optimistic.""So the first couple of days is hell, and then it’s gonna get better," she said of her recovery.“I’m trying to stay in good spirits, and the nurses and doctors and everybody was so great.”Snooki was inundated with well-wishes from her celeb pals in her Instagram comments.Singer Meghan Trainor wrote: "you are supermom."While Real Housewives star Kyle Richards said: "Thinking of you."Her Jersey Shore co-stars Pauly D, Angelina Pivarnick and Sammi Giancola all showed their love by sending her love hearts in the comment.While her followers all flooded her post with words of support.One said: "Girl, it was best easiest thing I did for my health. Feel better soon!"In a TikTok video in February, Snooki revealed she has been diagnosed with cancer after she had irregular smear tests, a procedure that screens women for cervical cancer.She said: “Obviously not the news that I was hoping for. But also not the worst news, just because they caught it so early.Article continues below“That’s why I’m literally telling you guys to get your Pap smears done. I’m 38 years old. I’ve been struggling with abnormal Pap smears for like, three, four years now. And now look at me, and instead of just, like, putting it off because I didn’t want to go, and it hurt and I was scared, no, I just went and did it, [and] cancer’s in there, and it’s only stage I and it’s curable.”
