Team Spirit emerges victorious in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Mid Season Cup at Esports World Cup 2026
PARIS: After nine days of competition, Team Spirit have claimed a regional first after winning the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Mid Season Cup at the Esports World Cup 2026.
Their victory against Burmese team Yangon Galacticos in the grand final marks the first time a team from the Eastern European and Central Asia region has won the MLBB Mid Season Cup.
Competitive MLBB is typically dominated by Southeast Asian teams, with Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines often taking the top spots. Team Liquid PH took the Mid Season Cup in 2025, and Aurora Gaming PH won the M7 World Championship earlier this year. Team Spirit’s victory here marks a significant moment for the EECA region, and after years of the team grinding, it marks a shift in the competitive MLBB landscape.
With a prize pool of over $3 million on the line, Team Spirit had a hard road ahead of them after being sent to the lower brackets by Team Vamos during the group stage. A victory against Guangzhou Gaming, however, secured their path into the knockout stage, where they pulled off a flawless run through to the grand final.
