The Delta State High Court has awarded ₦20million in damages against the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Olatunji Disu, the Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, and the Police Service Commission (PSC) for violating the fundamental rights of human rights lawyer, John-Larry Ojukoko over the use of a tinted vehicle.

The court held that the actions of the police authorities amounted to a violation of the applicant's constitutionally guaranteed fundamental rights and consequently ordered the respondents to jointly and severally pay ₦20,000,000 as damages.
Ojukoko, the applicant in the suit, is the Immediate Past Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Warri Branch, and currently serves as the Chairman of the Human Rights Committee of the branch.
