Alexandra Eala defeated third-seeded Naomi Osaka 6-4, 6-2 in 76 minutes, continuing her breakthrough season at the Mubadala DC Open.
The 21-year-old Filipino will face top-seeded Jessica Pegula in the final, having previously lost to the American at the 2025 Miami Open semi-finals.
Pegula overcame a 5-2 deficit against Diana Shnaider to win 7-5, 6-4, seeking her third title of the season and second in Washington.
Sixteen-year-old qualifier Kristina Liutova became the first player born in the 2010s to reach a WTA final, defeating Elvina Kalieva 7-5, 6-1 in Memphis.
