The Indian contingent enters the closing day with 39 medals, including 13 gold, 17 silver and nine bronze, despite the shortened sports programme at the Games. Rio 2016 Olympian Avtar Singh will lead India's judo challenge in the men's -100kg category, while track cyclists will aim to secure the country's first Commonwealth Games cycling medal. Asmita Dey became the first Indian judoka to win a Commonwealth Games gold medal after claiming the women's -48kg title, while Harsh Singh added another gold soon after. India will formally take over as the host of the 2030 Commonwealth Games during a 20-minute cultural presentation. Led by Shankar Mahadevan, Manushi Chhillar and other performers, the showcase will highlight India's heritage before the Commonwealth Games flag is handed over to Ahmedabad. The closing ceremony is scheduled for 1:30 AM IST on August 3.
