The automatic framing of what happened as a "terrorist attack," the condolences offered only to Jewish families, the disregard for Palestinians' right to self-defense, and the wording comprised entirely of a "heavy hand" and "defeating terrorism" – all reflected a disturbing ethnocentric reflex.
