In order to answer the question of how we reached the terrible situation in which the West Bank finds itself today, we must look back at the severe case of abuse of Palestinians and Israeli activists by settlers and soldiers on October 12, 2023. They were beaten and robbed and the Palestinians were bound and photographed in their underwear. Two of them were urinated on and had cigarettes extinguished on them. There was an attempt to insert an object into one of them. All of this happened during the expulsion of the village of Wadi al-Siq, a Palestinian community that fled in fear of violence and threats from settlers from nearby outposts.
